SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - The Chillicothe Paints struggled getting outs Wednesday night at Carleton Davidson Stadium, falling to the Champion City Kings 15-10.

The 15 runs and 17 hits allowed are both season highs for the Paints, who hadn't given up more than nine runs in a game this season.

Trailing 4-0 in the second, Parker Murdie singled home Andrew Bacon and Charlie Patrick hit a three-run home run to tie the game.

Cole Andrews hit a three-run home run in the third, giving the Paints a 7-4 advantage.

Champion City's Hunter May hit his second three-run home run of the game in the bottom of the third, tying the game 7-7.

Cody Orr hit a two-out solo home run in the fourth, putting the Paints back in front 8-7, it stayed that way until the bottom of the sixth.

A walk, a single, a wild pitch, an RBI single and a Stephen Cullen two-run home run gave the Kings their second four-run inning, giving the Kings control of the game at 11-8.

The Paints got one back in the top of the seventh on a ground out by Gavin Homer, cutting the Champion City lead to 11-9.

The Kings scored three runs on wild pitches and another on an RBI single, giving the home teams its third four-run inning and extending the lead to 15-9.

Justin McIntyre doubled with one out in the ninth and scored an RBI single by Cole Andrews, completing the scoring for the night. Andrews finished with four RBIs for the second night in a row.

Chillicothe returns home to VA Memorial Stadium for a Thursday night doubleheader with the Kings starting at 6:05 p.m. It's Homeland Credit Union Night and Thirsty Thursday - draft beer is just $1.
