
Paints' Dylan Shockley Drafted by Pittsburgh Pirates

Chillicothe Paints catcher and Minford High School graduate Dylan Shockley was selected in the 34th round of the 2019 Major League Baseball Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates Wednesday evening.
Shockley becomes the third player from the University of Rio Grande to ever be taken in the MLB Draft and is the second-highest draft pick ever from Rio Grande. He was twice named an All-American and was named Player of the Year in the River States Conference each of the last two years.
Shockley played for the Paints in 2016 and returned for this season after stints with the West Virginia Miners and Kalamazoo Growlers (Northwoods League) last summer.
