
Paints Blow Big Lead, Lose 10-6 to Drones

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - After a five-run first, the Chillicothe Paints (3-8), presented by Adena Health System, gave up four-run and six-run innings in a 10-6 loss to the DuPage Drones (4-6) at VA Memorial Stadium Wednesday night.
Chillicothe loaded the bases with no one out in the first, then Dylan Jones hit a sacrifice fly to center field, driving in Stewart Nelson for the first run of the game. Jack Thompson, who reached on an error, scored on a Dalton Bollinger RBI single. Brad Boss then tripled to drive in Korbin Williams and Bollinger. One batter later, Boss scored on a Jesse Forestell RBI single to give the Paints a 5-0 lead after one inning.
DuPage then answered with four runs in the third to cut the Paints' lead to 5-4 after three.
It stayed 5-4 until the seventh, when Bollinger led off with a triple and scored on a wild pitch to push the Chillicothe lead to 6-4 after seven.
In the top of the eighth, Chillicothe gave up six runs on six hits and an error, and found themselves trailing 10-6 going into the bottom of the eighth.
DuPage pitcher Sean Frontzak (1-1) then sat the Paints down in order over the final two innings, striking out four of the last six batters. Frontzak earned his first win of the year, he threw 2 1/3 innings and struck out five.
Chillicothe reliever David Stover (0-1) took the loss, he pitched one inning, allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits.
The Paints and Drones play again Thursday night at 7:05 p.m. 12-ounce draft beer will be just $1 for "Thirsty Thursday".
