Billings Outlaws News Release
WICHITA, Kan. - The Billings Outlaws shook off a slow start and cruised to a 58-31 United Indoor Football win over the Wichita Wild on Saturday night.
The win, coupled with Bloomington's 64-43 win over Omaha, puts Billings in position for a first-round home game in the upcoming UIF playoffs.
Billings (9-4) wraps up the regular season this Saturday at River City (St. Joseph, Mo.), while Omaha (9-4) hosts Sioux City on Saturday. A Billings win (or an Omaha loss) this week would mean Billings will host Omaha in a first-round playoff game on June 21. Should Billings lose and Omaha win this week, the Outlaws would travel to Omaha on June 21.
Billings trailed 14-13 before scoring 10 points in the final minute of the first half on a 21-yard touchdown pass from Chris Dixon to Anthony Candler and a 44-yard Aaron Galvan field goal. Wichita remained close throughout the third quarter before Billings blew the game open with 28 fourth-quarter points.
Dixon completed 22 of 34 passes for 198 yards and six touchdowns. Candler caught seven passes for 72 yards and two touchdowns. Robert Reed, Charles Anthony, Bernie Lewis and Jason Peters also caught touchdown passes.
Peters also rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown.
