Las Vegas Locomotives wide receiver David Kircus, Las Vegas defensive back Nick Turnbull and Locomotives kicker Graham Gano were named the OurSports Central United Football League Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively, for week six of the UFL season. The victory earned Las Vagas a berth in the first UFL championship game later this month.
Kircus made four catches for 104 yards in the win over the Redwoods. He played three seasons in the NFL with two different teams: the Detroit Lions and the Denver Broncos.
Turnbull finished with five total tackles, one interception and one fumble recovery for the Locos. Turnbull played briefly in the NFL with the Chicago Bears and the Atlanta Falcons in 2006.
Gano finished 1-1 on extra points and 3-4 on field goals of 35, 39 and 33 yards. He played his college football at Florida State and in 2008 won the Lou Groza Award that is given to the top placekicker in college football. He signed with the Baltimore Ravens in training camp but lost the starting kicker job to Steve Hauschka.
