
OurSports Central announces AFL Players of the Week

Grand Rapids Rampage quarterback James MacPherson, Philadelphia Soul defensive back Eddie Moten and San Jose SaberCats kicker A.J. Haglund were named the OurSports Central Arena Football League Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week, respectively, for the Divisional week of the AFL season.
MacPherson completed 33 of 39 throws (84.6%) for 326 yards, six touchdowns, one rushing touchdown and one interception in the Rampage's 58-41 upset victory over the Chicago Rush.
Moten finish with 13 total tackles, one interception and three pass break-ups in the Soul's 49-48 victory over the New York Dragons.
Haglund was 7-9 on extra points, one 37-yard field goal, five touchbacks on kickoffs and one special teams tackle in the SaberCats' 64-51 victory over the Colorado Crush.
Other players considered for Offensive honors were San Jose QB Mark Grieb, New York QB Aaron Garcia and Cleveland QB Raymond Philyaw.
Others considered for Defensive award were San Jose DB Marquis Floyd, San Jose DB Omarr Smith and Philadelphia DL Gabe Nyenhuis.
Other players considered for Special Team honors included Philadelphia's Connor Hughes (5-6 on extra points and three touchbacks on kickoffs), Grand Rapids' Brian Gowins (7-8 on extra points and a 25-yard field goal), and Georgia's Carlos Martinez (10-10 on extra points, five touchbacks on kickoffs and one recovered onside kick).
