Published on September 18, 2018 under Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) News Release

As preparations begin for the regular season, which starts Oct. 6 and 7, some final signings are being made by NWHL teams. While we expect just a few last ones, here are the players that recently signed contracts for 2018-19.

Boston Pride

Brittany Ott: The 2015-16 Goaltender of the Year and Isobel Cup champion, and captain of Team Ott at the 2018 All-Star Game, is back for her fourth season with the Pride. The Maine graduate started 43 games over her first three seasons in the NWHL.

Jordan Brickner: A 5-8 defender, an original NWHLer who finished her collegiate career at Wisconsin, returns to the Whale for her fourth season. She has played in 47 games with Connecticut.

Sam Donovan: The fifth overall selection in the 2017 NWHL Draft joined the Whale at the tail end of last season after completing her college career at Brown. The Minnesota native had an assist in two games and will be key to the Whale attack this season.

Jamie Goldsmith: The former St. Lawrence player enters her second season with the Whale, after scoring 3 goals in 14 games for Coach Ryan Equale's team last season.

Elena Orlando: A recipient of the NWHL Foundation Award in 2017, the strong two-way defender is an original NWHL player - starting with the Riveters in her first season and then joining the Whale for the last two.

Metropolitan Riveters

Erika Lawler: The former U.S. Olympian and three-time champion at Wisconsin made a triumphant return to the game last season when she helped lead the Riveters to the Isobel Cup. Lawler, who was a studio analyst on NBC's Olympic broadcasts in February, was 1-7-8 in 14 regular season games in 2017-18.
