OSU LHP Mitch Milheim Signs with Paints
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio - The Chillicothe Paints, presented by Adena Health System, signed left-handed pitcher Mitch Milheim to its 2019 team, which begins play May 30, at VA Memorial Stadium.
A 6-foot, 195-pound, freshman at The Ohio State University, Milheim has already seen action for the Buckeyes this spring. He has appeared in seven games from the bullpen and didn't allow a run, earned or otherwise, until his sixth outing.
Milheim is from Powell, Ohio, and attended Olentangy Liberty High School, where he helped the Patriots cap off a 30-4 season with the 2018 Division I Ohio State Championship. Milheim was a selected Second-Team All-Ohio and was named Player of the Year by the Ohio Capital Conference's Buckeye Division. On the mound as a senior, Milheim went 10-0 with a 1.31 ERA and struck out 75 batters over 59 innings. Perfect Game rated Milheim as the No. 2 left-handed pitcher in the state.
Milheim is currently a mechanical engineering major at The Ohio State University. He is the first Buckeye to sign with the Paints in 2019 and joins Penn State's Gavin Homer as the second player from to Big Ten to sign with this year's club.
