NEW ORLEANS, La. - After giving up a score to the VooDoo in just three plays to open the game, the Preds went on a tear scoring 21 straight points and never looking back or relinquishing the lead to win the opening game of the Predators 2011 20th Anniversary season, 47-34 over the New Orleans VooDoo. Nick Hill showed off his legs in the opener with 11 rushes for 46 yards and two touchdowns, as well as his arm totaling 290 yards on 25-36 passing, resulting in four touchdowns. All in all a pretty good start for the second-year quarterback who missed a good portion of the preseason due to an emergency appendectomy.

Veteran TT Toliver stood out of the Preds strong receiving corps, hauling in 13 catches for 146 yards and two touchdowns, and was named the Nifty Playmaker of the game. The steady Robert Quiroga had six catches for 79 yards and a score while former NFL WR Doug Gabriel had a strong showing in his AFL debut with five catches for 46 yards and a touchdown.

On the defensive side of the ball the Preds were led by returning LB Marlon Moye-Moore who dominated the VooDoo, totaling 4.0 tackles, a forced fumble, interception and also added a rushing touchdown.

Next, the Preds take on the Utah Blaze in their home opener at the Amway Center on March 26. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling 407-648-4444 or visiting www.TicketMaster.com.
