
Opening Homestand to Honor Champions

LANCASTER, Calif. - The defending California League Champion Lancaster JetHawks will celebrate the start of a new season and the end of the last one as they begin the 2013 season with a seven game homestand against the High Desert Mavericks and Lake Elsinore Storm. The opening home stand will feature a 2012 Championship Celebration, championship-themed giveaways and great deals for fans.
On Thursday, the JetHawks will celebrate the first title in franchise history with an on-field presentation of the championship rings. After the championship banner is raised, the JetHawks will take the field against the Mavericks to open the 2013 season. Highly touted pitching prospect Mike Foltynewicz and Alex Gillingham are scheduled to start.
Opening Night will also feature $2 hot dogs, $2 nachos, $2 sodas and $2 beers.
The first 1,000 fans through the gates on Friday night will receive a 2013 JetHawks magnet schedule featuring the championship logo.
On Saturday night, the JetHawks will give away replica championship banners presented by Beaven Insurance to the first 1,000 fans in attendance. Get one at the ballpark so you can decorate your home and commemorate last season's thrilling postseason run.
Fans are invited to come early and play catch on the field before Sunday's 2:00 pm game as part of Family in the Park Sundays. Players will sign autographs prior to the final game of the series with High Desert and kids will get a chance to run the bases after the game.
Lake Elsinore comes to town for the first Make a Difference Monday of 2013. The JetHawks have teamed up with Grace Resource Center to help continue their mission to eliminate hunger in the Antelope Valley. Fans who come to The Hangar with two cans of non-perishable foods prior to the game will receive a free ticket.
Two 4 Tuesday returns featuring great two-for-two deals on tickets and food. Fans will receive two free tickets if they buy two Preferred Grandstand seats and if fans buy two hamburgers or chicken sandwiches, they'll get two free as well.
The home stand ends on Wednesday with the first What-A-Deal Wednesday presented by Local Living. Fans will get a community savings book when they walk through the gates including coupons for deals that add up to hundreds of dollars in savings throughout the Antelope Valley.
After the first home stand, the JetHawks will take off for Modesto to take on the Nuts in a Championship Series rematch. Their first road trip of the season will also feature three games against the Mavericks. The team returns April 18.
