
On the road again: Tornado to visit Santa Fe for three this weekend

After a stretch of five home games in a row, the Texas Tornado take the show on the road this weekend for three games against the Santa Fe Roadrunners on Thursday, January 25th, Friday, January 26th, and Saturday, January 27th. All three games begin at 7:05pm mountain time (8:05pm central, 9:05pm eastern). All games will be broadcast live on the Tornado Hockey Network. This is a key series for the Tornado (24-12-4) who sit just four points behind the Roadrunners (26-9-4) in the standings. The Tornado are just 5-4-1 in their last 10 games played.
Next home weekend: February 9 and 10 vs. Springfield!
The Texas Tornado return to the friendly confines of the Dr Pepper StarCenter in Frisco for two games against the Springfield Jr. Blues on Friday, February 9th and Saturday, February 10th. Tornado acquire new defenseman, Dan Siira
On Friday, January 19th, the Texas Tornado picked up veteran defenseman #27 Dan Siira. Siira, 20, is originally from Anchorage, Alaska and played this season with the Bismarck Bobcats of the NAHL Central Division. In 26 games with the Bobcats this season, Siira had 8 goals (which ranks 4th among NAHL defensemen) and 5 assists for 13 points. He spent the 2005-06 season with the Wasilla Spirit (now Alaska Avalanche), playing in 39 regular season games. Siira, who is 6'1", 180lbs., made his Tornado debut during Saturday night's 5-3 loss against St. Louis. Siira played well and played significant minutes until he received a stick to the face in the 3rd period that knocked him out for the remainder of the game.
