Old Glory DC Signs Old Dominion University Alumnus John LeFevre
January 20, 2022 - Major League Rugby (MLR)
Old Glory DC News Release
Old Glory welcomes Washington native and local player, John LeFevre to the DC squad for the 2022 Major League Rugby season.
"Excited and grateful to join my hometown team," said John on signing with Old Glory. "I've probably been to every game as a fan, so the thought of suiting up for the team in front of my family and friends is a huge motivator. Ready to help the boys bring home the 'ship."
John joins Old Glory DC as a local club prospect, playing for the Division 1 side of NOVA Men's Rugby, who compete in the Mid-Atlantic conference. Additionally, John was selected to join the Old Glory's U23 side, Young Glory, during their inaugural season and secured a starting position at scrum-half.
"John spent time with us last season and impressed the players and staff to the point where we put him on a full contract for this year. He's a local product, having played with Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia and NOVA Men's Rugby outside of DC, who's excelled at every opportunity he's been given. He's quick, and a good young man, who's excited about his future with Old Glory. We're hoping he'll push for a starting position with the team, and we're looking forward to what he'll put out this season."
