SHREVEPORT, La. - Daniel Duris made 44 stops and Joey DelGreco scored in double overtime to complete the South Division Finals sweep over the Shrevport Mudbugs Friday, and send the Oklahoma Warriors to the 2023 Robertson Cup in Blaine, Minnesota.
Shreveport opened the game's scoring with the only goal in the first period, though Duris turned aside 11 shots.
Oklahoma got the only goal of the second period when Cole Teleki set up Drew Sutton on a shorthanded breakaway at 9:56 to tie the game 1-1.
No other goals would find the back of the net through regulation, and the shots favored Shreveport 31-28 through 60 minutes.
The first overtime came and went, with neither side finding the back of the net until double overtime.
The Warriors would find the game-winning goal 6:45 into overtime when Sutton entered the zone deep, and sent the puck to Owen Baumgartner at the blueline. Baumgartner skated in the near side and sent a tip-in puck to the top of the crease for DelGreco's series-clinching goal.
The Warriors will travel to Fogerty Arena (Minnesota) to face the lowest-seeded remaining team (to be determined) in the Robertson Cup Playoffs Friday, May 19, at 4:30 p.m.
