Today's Game: The Oklahoma City Comets close out their road series against the Salt Lake Bees at 7:05 p.m. CT at The Ballpark at America First Square...The Comets' nine-game winning streak came to an end last night, but OKC has already clinched a series win...2024 National League All-Star and two-time World Series Champion Tyler Glasnow is scheduled to pitch for OKC as part of a rehab assignment.

Last Game: The Oklahoma City Comets' nine-game winning streak was snapped as they were outslugged by the Salt Lake Bees, 14-13, Saturday night at The Ballpark at America First Square. The Comets jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning, including RBI singles by Ryan Ward and Alek Thomas. Salt Lake responded with a pair of two-out runs in the bottom of the first and took a 5-3 lead with three runs in the second inning. The Comets stormed back with five runs in the third inning, all scoring with two outs. Both teams exchanged a run in the fourth inning, and Salt Lake got within one run following a two-run homer in the fifth inning. The Comets got both runs back in the sixth inning, as Thomas recorded a RBI double as part of the rally. Salt Lake answered yet again with five two-out runs in the bottom of the sixth to take the lead, capped by a go-ahead three-run homer from Kyren Paris to give Salt Lake a 13-11 advantage. The Bees added an additional run in the seventh inning before OKC scored a pair of runs in the eighth inning to close within 14-13. However, the Comets left the bases loaded in the eighth inning and were unable to rally in the ninth inning.

Today's Probable Pitchers: Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Tyler Glasnow (0-0) makes his second start of a ML Rehab Assignment and first with OKC...He last pitched Aug. 4 for Single-A Ontario at Lake Elsinore, tossing 2.0 scoreless innings with one hit and one strikeout. He threw just 16 pitches (12 strikes) while retiring six of seven batters faced...Glasnow began the year with the Dodgers, going 3-0 with a 2.72 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and .149 BAA in seven starts before being placed on the IL due to low back spasms. Through May 8, he led the Dodgers in strikeouts (49) and starts (tied) while ranking second in innings (39.2) and wins (tied)...He made 18 starts for the Dodgers during the 2025 regular season, finishing 4-3 with a 3.19 ERA. He also appeared in six postseason games (three starts) on the way to a World Series title...Glasnow was acquired via trade with Tampa Bay alongside OF Manuel Margot and cash considerations in exchange for RHP Ryan Pepiot and OF Jonny DeLuca Dec. 16, 2023.

Christian Romero (9-3) is scheduled to piggyback Glasnow as he makes his 23rd appearance...Romero started twice last series vs. Las Vegas, most recently pitching in the series finale Aug. 2 as he earned a win with 5.0 scoreless innings, four hits, three walks and four strikeouts...Tonight's appearance will mark his sixth as a piggybacker, a role in which he's recorded a 2-1 record with a 3.60 ERA...Among qualified PCL pitchers, Romero ranks tied for second in wins, third in ERA (4.28), third in WHIP (1.39), third in BAA (.266), tied for third in innings (103.0) and sixth in strikeouts (80)...Romero has set career highs in starts and wins while matching his career best in innings...The Dodgers signed Romero as a minor league free agent Jan. 15, 2021 out of Mexico.

Against the Bees: 2026: 7-3 2025: 7-5 All-time: 93-78 At SL: 46-40

The Comets and Bees meet for the second of two six-game sets this season and OKC's only visit to Salt Lake...OKC won three of five games at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark May 5-9 with the series finale cancelled due to inclement weather...OKC enters tonight having won seven of the last nine meetings against the Bees...The Comets have scored at least six runs in all 10 games against the Bees this season, totaling 91 runs...Last season, the Comets took five of six on the road, but the Bees won four of six games in OKC...Since OKC became affiliated with the Dodgers in 2015, the team owns a 54-33 advantage against the Bees in the Triple-A version of the Freeway Series...The road team is 19-8 over the last 27 games between the squads, and OKC is 9-2 over the first 11 games the team has played at The Ballpark at America First Square.

End of the Line: The longest active winning streak in the full-season Minors, as well as the longest winning streak by a PCL team this season, came to a close last night when the Comets' nine-game winning streak ended with their first loss since July 28 against Las Vegas. It was Oklahoma City's longest winning streak since they won 10 games in a row May 9-19, 2023, and it was also OKC's seventh winning streak of at least nine games during the Bricktown era (since 1998)...The Comets also won seven straight games earlier this season May 14-21, and this is the fourth time in the Bricktown era that OKC has recorded multiple winning streaks of at least seven games within the same season.

Running Wild: Oklahoma City and Salt Lake combined for 27 runs Saturday night - the second-most combined runs in a Comets game this season, trailing only a 20-8 win at Albuquerque May 17...Saturday's loss marked just the sixth time during the Bricktown era (since 1998) that OKC scored at least 13 runs in a game and lost, with the previous instance in a 14-13 defeat May 15, 2022 at Round Rock. Last night also snapped a string of 58 consecutive wins when scoring at least 10 runs, with the last loss June 6, 2024 vs. Round Rock in Game 2 of a doubleheader, 11-10...The Comets surrendered 14 runs and 14 hits, allowing their second-most runs in a game this season and most since allowing 17 runs April 19 at Albuquerque. OKC had allowed 16 runs across the prior five games and 30 runs during the nine-game win streak...Saturday was the fourth game in the PCL this season where both teams scored at least 13 runs and the second to occur at The Ballpark at America First Square. On June 3, Albuquerque defeated Salt Lake, 14-13, in 10 innings.

That's Offensive: Oklahoma City has reached double-digit runs and hits in four of the five games during the current series, finishing Saturday with 13 runs and 14 hits, bringing the Comets' five-game total to 52 runs and 67 hits...The Comets have scored at least six runs in 11 of the last 12 games, totaling 100 runs in that span. Oklahoma City has put together an inning of three or more runs in each of the last 12 games, including twice Saturday (19 total)...Since July 26 (12 G), the Comets' 100 runs scored are second-most among all Triple-A teams behind Albuquerque (112)...Over the last 11 games, the Comets are batting .329 (129-for-392) overall and .380 (57-for-150) with RISP. The Comets have at least 10 hits in eight of the 11 games and at least 12 hits in seven of the last 10 games.

No Doubting Thomas: Alek Thomas matched season highs in hits and RBI, going 4-for-6 with a double, triple and four RBI Saturday. He's driven in eight runs across the last two games, combining to go 6-for-11 with three extra-base hits. Thomas recorded four hits in a game for the second time this season, last doing so June 19 vs. Sacramento...Thomas has collected at least two hits in six of the last nine games, going 17-for-42 (.405) with eight extra-base hits and 14 RBI.

History in the Making: Ryan Ward went 3-for-5 with a RBI Saturday and now has 18 RBI over his last 11 games, going 15-for-45 (.333) with the second-most RBI in the PCL during the span....Ward owns OKC's Bricktown-era career records for hits (490), homers (104) and RBI (383). He is tied with Kelly Dransfeldt for the Bricktown-era record with 93 career doubles. He also ranks second on OKC's Bricktown-era list for career games played with 478. Dransfeldt is OKC's all-time leader with 502 games played from 1999-2002.

Hard-Line: Zach Ehrhard drew three walks to extend his on-base streak to 17 games, now the fourth-longest on-base streak by a Comet this season. The outfielder is batting .354 (23-for-65) with 14 RBI, 18 walks and 19 runs scored during the stretch, posting a .488 OBP...His .407 OBP for the season ranks fifth in the league.

Still Streaking: James Tibbs III has a hit in each of his last eight games (14-for-31), matching his season high. He has at least one hit in 11 of his last 12 contests (.378; 17-for-45)... Alex Freeland has collected a hit in each of his first eight games since being optioned to OKC in late July, going 10-for-31 (.323) with four extra-base hits, 11 runs, 12 walks and five stolen bases...Noah Miller is on a six-game hitting streak, going 11-for-27 (.407). Miller has hit safely in nine of his last 10 games, batting .390 (16-for-41) with nine RBI.

Around the Horn: Last night OKC struck out only twice for the first time since Aug. 18, 2023 during a 6-1 win at Salt Lake...Ryan Fitzgerald leads all Triple-A hitters with 133 hits.
