Ohio Machine News Release

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Machine Lacrosse Foundation (OMLF) announced today the five Ohio lacrosse communities that were awarded grants through the Foundation's inaugural grant program: Canal Winchester Lacrosse Association, Canfield Middle School Lacrosse Club, Marysville Boys Lacrosse Association, West Jefferson Youth Athletic Association and Wilmington Middle School Club Lacrosse. These five communities applied for funding to support new and on-going initiatives surrounding their lacrosse programs. They were selected based on the competitiveness of their application as well as their respective needs. In all, these grants will have an impact on over 250 youth lacrosse players.

"Our Foundation was formed with the goal of giving back to organizations around the state working hard to grow the game," stated Ohio Machine Team President, Ryan Chenault. "I could not be more excited for these five communities and look forward to assisting them this year as they enhance their youth lacrosse efforts."

The OMLF grant was established to help improve existing lacrosse programs or establish new lacrosse programs within Ohio to promote participation in the game. It is intended to assist programs by providing players with the tools they need to excel including equipment, skilled instruction, field upgrades, and more.

"Our lacrosse program got its start with the help of the Machine four years ago when coaches came to West Jefferson to help us put on our first ever lacrosse clinic. This year, the Machine, through their Foundation, has taken things a step farther and given us the opportunity to provide for our young athletes in ways that may not have been otherwise possible, "shared Jerry Fitzpatrick, the youth lacrosse operations director for grant-recipient West Jefferson Youth Athletic Association.
