Ohio Machine Fall to Launch 13-12

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Unable to complete the comeback, the Ohio Machine fell to the Florida Launch, 13-12, in their final home game of the season on Saturday at Fortress Obetz.

After coming out of the half down three, the Machine (3-10) let loose, scoring four consecutive goals to bring the game within one goal. In his return to the Machine roster, midfielder Tom Schreiber started off the streak, netting his first goal since the Machine hosted the Dallas Rattlers on 5/12. Attackman Bryce Wasserman and attackman Davey Emala scored their second goal of the game and midfielder Kyle Harrison scored his first goal since Week 7 to complete the four-goal run.

The back and forth battle started from the beginning as the Machine opened the game with two goals from Ryan Ambler and Ryan Keenan in response to a goal by Ryan Drenner of the Launch (5-7). Florida added another to tie the game at two until attackman Ryan Walsh scored his first goal as a Sheen to give the team a one goal lead after 15 minutes of play.

In the second quarter, the Launch took off, scoring seven goals. The team opened the quarter on a five-goal streak, only to be stopped by Emala with nine minutes to play in the half. Wasserman added his first of the night to cut into the Launch's lead.

It was midfielder Tyler Pfister's goal in the last 15 seconds of the first half that spurred the Machine's momentum heading into the half.

Following the third quarter run by the Machine, attackman Frank Brown scored with under nine minutes to play in the game to put the team one goal away from their opponent, but the Launch responded to every Machine effort. Wasserman recorded his third game of the night to keep the Machine within one, but the Machine were ultimately topped by Florida.

In his second game in the MLL, Wasserman recorded his first career hat trick. Wasserman led the scoring effort for the Machine with three goals and one assist.

"I have to credit the veterans on this team," said Wasserman. "They have been so awesome. The greatest of all time, Kyle Harrison, Tom Schreiber, Scott Rodgers, taking me under their wing and showing me the way. They have been awesome and have really given me the confidence to go out and play. I get to play off some great players."

Greg Puskuldjian won 17 of 29 faceoffs, his best performance from the x this season.

Six different Machine players scored in the first half of the game and eight different players scored in the entire game.

The Machine split this season's series with the Launch, as they won the first matchup of the season in Florida 13-11.

Next up for the Machine is their final game of the season against the Boston Cannons on Saturday, August 4th in Boston.
