Ohio Machine Activate Zach Bryant and Bryce Young

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Machine have activated defenders Zachary Bryant and Bryce Young from the Collegiate Inactive List. Both were selected by the Machine in the 2018 Major League Lacrosse Draft.

Young, who attended the University of Maryland, was selected in the second round of the Draft and 15th overall. A member of the 2017 NCAA Championship Terrapins, Young is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten recipient and USILA All-American. He was also named Second Team All-Big Ten and a candidate for the 2018 USILA National Player of the Year. The New Jersey native started all fifteen games for Maryland this season and scored two goals, dished three assists, caused 11 turnovers, and grabbed 25 ground balls.

Bryant was selected 36th overall by the Machine out of Robert Morris. He is just the fifth player out of Robert Morris to be drafted to the MLL. Bryant, from Ontario, is the second player in Colonial history to record 70 career caused turnovers and the fourth player to be named USILA All-Americans. Bryant played in 60 games for the Colonials, starting all 18 this season. He scored two goals, recorded three assists, caused 37 turnovers and picked up 36 ground balls during his final collegiate season.

In a corresponding move, the Machine have moved attackman Greg Melaugh to the practice squad. Additionally, Midfielder Tom Schreiber has been placed on Injured Reserve, retroactive to May 26.
