"I feel very fortunate to have Brianna and Hilary as our captains this year for the Pride," head coach Bobby Jay said. "It's a tremendous bonus when your most skilled players are also your best leaders."

"They both bring different types of leadership, with Brianna's determination and desire and Hilary's humility and willingness to put the team before herself despite her high profile," he continued. "Their teammates, as well as myself and [Assistant Coach] Lauren (McAuliffe) have a tremendous amount of respect for them on the ice and in the locker room."

Decker leads the league with seven points (5 goals, 2 assists) in three games. She made league history scoring the first hat trick on October 25 against the Buffalo Beauts. Aside from establishing herself as leader early in the inaugural NWHL season, Decker served as alternate captain for the United States at the IIHF Women's World Championship earlier this year. Pfalzer Named First Captain In Beauts History

Emily Pfalzer has been a true backbone for the Beauts as their steadiest defenseman through the first three games of the 2015-16 season. Her cool, calm, and collected demeanor on and off the ice made her an easy choice for a leadership role.

"Having grown up in Buffalo, she understands what it means to represent the city and the team," said head coach Shelley Looney. "She is a positive influence and leads by example." (Full Story)
