NY Riveters Host Historic Home Opener for Women's Pro Hockey in NYC

BROOKLYN - On Sunday evening, the New York Riveters host the Boston Pride in the first ever National Women's Hockey League (www.nwhl.co) in New York City. Founded in 2015, the NWHL is the first professional hockey league for women to offer paid contracts for its players.
The New York roster features U.S. National Team players Madison Packer and Brooke Ammerman, Austrian National Team star Janine Weber, who scored the game-winning goal in last year's Clarkson Cup final (CWHL), Russian dynamo Lyudmila Belyakova and Japanese goaltender Nana Fujimoto, currently leading the league in jersey sales.
The Boston roster features 2014 U.S. Olympians Kacey Bellamy, Hilary Knight, Gigi Marvin and Brianna Decker.
Puck drop is 7:00 P.M. at Aviator Sports & Events Center (3159 Flatbush Ave, Brooklyn, NY).
