NWHL All-Star Rosters Announced for #TeamDempsey and #TeamPacker

The rosters for the teams captained by Jillian Dempsey and Madison Packer at the 2020 NWHL All-Star Weekend in Boston were unveiled today.

Fans selected three All-Stars: Lexi Bender, Rebecca Morse, and Audra Richards. NWHL Commissioner Dani Rylan previously announced that in honor of their extraordinary efforts for hockey, the following eight players with the league since the first season are All-Stars: Dempsey, Packer, Corinne Buie, Jordan Brickner, Shannon Doyle, Elena Orlando, Kaleigh Fratkin and Kiira Dosdall-Arena. The remaining 21 All Stars were chosen by the league office in consultation with the general managers and head coaches of the five teams.

On the rosters are eight members of the undefeated 17-0 Boston Pride, seven members of the second-place Minnesota Whitecaps, six players each from the Buffalo Beauts and Metropolitan Riveters, and five from the Connecticut Whale. Once the players were selected, captains Dempsey and Packer conducted a draft to pick their teams. The rosters are:

Team Dempsey

Forwards: McKenna Brand, Boston; Jonna Curtis, Minnesota; Jillian Dempsey, Boston; Lexie Laing, Boston; Nicole Schammel, Minnesota; Allie Thunstrom, Minnesota; Emma Vlasic, Connecticut; Taylor Accursi, Buffalo.

Defenders: Marie-Jo Pelletier, Buffalo; Lexi Bender, Boston; Shannon Doyle, Connecticut; Rebecca Morse, Metropolitan; Jordan Brickner, Connecticut; Kiira Dosdall-Arena, Metropolitan.

Goaltenders: Mariah Fujimagari, Buffalo; Lovisa Selander, Boston.

Team Packer

Forwards: Corinne Buie, Buffalo; Kendall Cornine, Metropolitan; Grace Klienbach, Connecticut; Kate Leary, Metropolitan; Madison Packer, Metropolitan; Mary Parker, Boston; Christina Putigna, Boston; Audra Richards, Minnesota; Brooke Stacey, Buffalo.

Defenders: Sydney Baldwin, Minnesota; Amanda Boulier, Minnesota; Lenka Čurmová, Buffalo; Kaleigh Fratkin, Boston; Elena Orlando, Connecticut.

Goaltenders: Amanda Leveille, Minnesota; Sam Walther, Metropolitan.

The weekend's events will be held at Warrior Ice Arena, the state-of-the-art home venue of the Boston Pride. The 2020 NWHL All-Star Game - two 25-minute periods of exhilarating 4-on-4 play - is on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 2:30 p.m. The All-Star Skills Challenge, which includes the Fastest Skater and Hardest Shot competitions, is on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 8 p.m. Tickets for the All-Star Game and Skills Challenge are on sale now at www.NWHL.zone/tickets.

Both events will be broadcast live on Twitch (twitch.tv/nwhl) with announcers Kelly Schultz, Alexis Pearson, Erica Ayala and Sam Fryman.
