
NWFL Unveils Erie Logo

The National Women's Football League, the largest full contact football league in the world, has selected the logo for the Erie Illusion.
The NWFL held a "name the team" contest on its website with Todd Roman of Avenel, New Jersey sending in the winning entry. "We loved the name "Illusion" and wanted a logo that would reflect the name," states Debby Lening, VP Marketing/Media. "Our logo designer, Francis Santaquiliani, Owner FS Designs, never ceases to impress us! We give him a name, and he can whip up an awesome logo in no time!" exclaims Lening. Santaquilani has designed all of the league's logo and is well known in the sports world for his work.
Tryouts for the team have been held for the past month and the final tryouts will be on November 16, 11:00am at Frontier Park on West 6th and Seminole. All female athletes over 18 are invited to attend. Tryout participants should bring water and a towel and dress in comfortable shoes and clothing. There is a one time tryout fee of $35.00.
The team will play in the Mid-Atlantic Division with the Baltimore Burn, The DC Divas, the Pittsburgh Passion and the Columbus Flames. The league is operating the team until and owner can be found. For information on purchasing this team, please contact the league office at (615) 860-4084.
