NWFL Targets Girls of the Gridiron
September 12, 2002 - National Women's Football Association (NWFA) News Release
The National Women's Football League, the world's largest full contact football league for women athletes, will be offering high school girls the chance to participate in full contact football.
Called the "Girls of the Gridiron", the program invites high school girls who want to play football, the chance to play on a junior varsity squad on one of the NWFL teams. "We have been receiving emails from high school girls for over two years who are frustrated because they can't play in school and are too young to play in our league. By setting up our Girls of the Gridiron program, we can get these girls into football and start them on their dreams," states Catherine Masters, CEO of the NWFL.
All high school girls who are between the ages of 14-18 interested in trying out for one of our team's junior varsity squads, should email nwflmedia@aol.com.
The National Women's Football League has nearly 30 teams gearing up for its 2003 season. For additional information on the league, please visit the website at www.nwflcentral.com or call (615) 860-4084.
