
Nutz Extend Winning Streak
July 23, 2003 - Carolinas Basketball League (CarBL) News Release
The Hickory Nutz extended their winning streak to 18 games with a superb defensive effort from Nate James, DeSean Hadley and Mario Woodson. The Nutz held Wilmington to 78 points and the CBL leading Jamel President to 16 points. The Nutz won 148-78.
Shaun Hall led the Nutz with 23 points including 7-9 from 3-point land. Seven other Nutz scored in double figures led by Lamont Boozer and Tyson Patterson with 18.
Robert O'Kelly led the Wave Rockers with 24 points
"It is amazing the goals these guys have set and how determined they are to reach them." Nutz Head Coach Bryan Gates commented on. "They all have ambitions to play overseas after our season. And then they ask if they can come back next year."
