Published on June 22, 2026 under Northern Super League (NSL) News Release

Week 9 just leveled up.

Three games and three 1-1 draws. We've never seen anything like it. Every team scored, but nobody won, and the standings stayed exactly the same. The tension has never been higher. The pressure is mounting and Week 9 has set the stage for what could be the most intense stretch of the season yet. It's anyone's league right now.

Last Week's Matches:

Halifax and Vancouver traded goals in a competitive coastal battle, but neither side was able to snatch the win

Ottawa and Toronto served up a thrilling six-minute goal fest to open the match, but the defenses locked in after that and neither side could find a winner at TD Place

Calgary finally ended its scoreless streak with a goal against Montréal, but the Roses hit back to earn a share of the points in Laval

Last Week's Matches Halifax Tides FC vs. Vancouver Rise FC

Thursday, June 18, 2026

1 - 1

Wanderers Grounds (Halifax, NS)

A tightly contested and defensively solid first half saw both teams create chances without finding the breakthrough. Vancouver had the majority of the possession and shots on target, but couldn't get the ball past goalkeeper Rylee Foster-Inman. At the other end, Morgan McAslan was sharp when called upon, and the half ended 0-0 with neither side able to break the deadlock.

Vancouver came out with even more energy in the second half and were rewarded when Anaïs Oularbi scored her first NSL goal, finishing brilliantly to give the Rise a 1-0 lead. Halifax responded with urgency, pushing numbers forward and creating several chances. Their persistence paid off when Julianne Vallerand headed it in off a corner kick to level things up at 1-1. Both sides pushed hard for a win in the closing stages but couldn't convert, and the match ended all square.

Ottawa Rapid FC vs. AFC Toronto

Sunday, June 21, 2026

1 - 1

TD Place (Ottawa, ON)

What a start to this one. Ottawa drew first blood inside the opening three minutes when Delaney Baie Pridham found the corner of the net with a rocket off her left foot, giving the Rapid an early 1-0 lead. AFC Toronto responded immediately though, with Lauren Rowe leveling things up just three minutes later, finishing with a precise shot into the corner. Both sides continued to push for a second goal throughout the half, but neither could find the breakthrough and the teams went into the break level at 1-1.

The second half was a tense and hard-fought affair with both teams creating chances. AFC Toronto came close multiple times, with Sarah Stratigakis striking the post and Lauren Rowe getting denied in the box. Both teams pushed hard in the closing moments, but both goalkeepers put in standout performances to keep the scores level, and the match ended 1-1.

Montréal Roses FC vs. Calgary Wild FC

Sunday, June 21, 2026

1 - 1

Stade Boréale (Laval, QC)

Calgary struck first when Mya Jones laid it off perfectly for Kahli Johnson to finish for her first NSL goal and give the Wild a 1-0 lead. Montréal responded quickly, with Evelyn Badu leveling things up with a stunning long-range strike into the far corner, her first NSL goal, to make it 1-1. Both sides continued to push for a second goal, but the defenses held firm and the half ended level.

Montréal dominated possession in the second half, creating several chances and forcing Katelin Talbert into some big saves. Elyse Bennett was a constant threat but couldn't find the decisive touch. Calgary defended resolutely and had dangerous moments of its own on the counter. Despite a late flurry of corners and chances for Montréal, Katelin Talbert stood firm and the match ended 1-1.
