Northwoods League Summer Collegiate World Series Begins Thursday Night

Rochester, Minn. --The 2015 Summer Collegiate World Series begins Thursday, August 13 as the St. Cloud Rox will travel to face the Kenosha Kingfish for game one at 7:05 p.m. The series will be a best-of-three to determine the champion of the Northwoods League.
The Kenosha Kingfish advanced into the series after a walk-off win over the Madison Mallards in the one game South Division Championship. John Brodner (Wright State) had the game-winning single in the bottom of the ninth to cap the Kingfish comeback and get them into the championship series.
Meanwhile, the St. Cloud Rox come into the series absolutely on fire. The Rox have won ten straight games including their two playoff wins. The Rox defeated Rochester 4-0 in game one of the playoffs and 10-3 against Duluth in the North Division Championship game. With home field advantage, a day of rest, and a ten-game winning streak, the Rox will serve as a formidable opponent.
The Rox beat the Honkers in game one behind a dominant pitching performance from Reese Gregory (St. Cloud State). Gregory threw a complete game 3 hit shutout while striking out 10. In game two the Rox bats broke out in the 6th inning with five runs. John Sansone (Florida State) led the onslaught going 4 for 5 with a home run, four runs scored and three runs driven in.
Game one of the 2015 Summer Collegiate World Series will be played on Thursday, August 13 at 7:05 p.m. in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The game one pitching matchup will be Sheldon Miks (5-1, 2.73 ERA, 42 K) for St. Cloud vs P.J. Schuster, Jr. (6-3, 3.06 ERA, 53 K) for Kenosha.
Game two on Friday and game three on Saturday (if necessary) will take place in St. Cloud, Minnesota starting at 7:05 p.m. on Friday and at 6:05 p.m. on Saturday.
