SLIDELL, LA - American Indoor Football Commissioner John Morris announced today that Joseph Glasser has acquired the Slidell, LA market for an expansion team. The new team will be named for the entire region featuring the name Northshore Gators. The Gators will begin play in the 2016 season.
"We proudly welcome Joe to the AIF," said Commissioner John Morris. "This is a development that will help elevate the AIF to new heights. The North Shore region is home to more than 500,000 people, and we look forward to intense rivalries between our western teams that will captivate this great region."
The team will play its home games in the Ponchatrain Convention & Civic Center. It is a beautiful 5,000 seat arena. The goal is to provide an entertaining and family friendly environment. The Gators will plan to have games for the kids, special guest half-time performers, and a myriad other activities for the family to enjoy.
