ADRIAN, Mich. - The North Iowa Bulls, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that forward Dylan Gajewski has committed to continue his hockey career with the ACHA Division I hockey program at Adrian College. He is the ninth North Iowa player to announce a college commitment this season, and the first Bull ever to commit to play for the Bulldogs.

Gajewski's commitment takes him back to his home state after enjoying a stellar high-school career at Woodhaven High School, where he posted 107 points over a three-year varsity career. After a year in Ontario, he joined the North American 3 Hockey League's (NA3HL) Willmar WarHawks, leading the team to new heights in 2020-21 behind 14 goals and 12 assists in 26 regular-season games. He added six points in five Fraser Cup playoff games, leading the team to its first-ever playoff series victory and to within a game of its first appearance in the Fraser Cup championship tournament.

Gajewski reached the NAHL at the start of the 2021-22 season, earning three goals in his first four games as an Austin Bruin, but he did not find the back of the net again before joining the North Iowa roster over Thanksgiving week. However, he began up his run with the Bulls on one of the team's hottest opening runs ever, notching goals in his first four games with North Iowa, including a hat trick and the overtime winner in a December 10 game against the Springfield Jr. Blues.

He would go on to notch a total of 35 points in 56 games between the Bulls and Bruins this past season, with 25 of those points coming in a North Iowa uniform, and land a spot on the NAHL's Top Prospects roster for Team Central.

"I was looking for a school that I could be comfortable with outside of hockey," said Gajewski. "My brother just graduated from Adrian this year, so I'm familiar with (the school). I know the coaching staff really well, and was looking to be a bit closer to home after being away the past few years."

He now joins an Adrian Bulldogs team that is a perennial power among ACHA Division I programs, with national titles in 2018 and 2021. The program has won six straight Great Lakes Collegiate Hockey League championships under head coach Gary Astalos, and will carry a 67-game GLCHL winning streak into the upcoming season.

"Dylan has the ability to be a game-changer on any given night," said North Iowa head coach and general manager Todd Sanden. "His knack around the opponent's net can be lethal."

Gajewski says he will study finance at Adrian, and is also considering pursuing a marketing degree.

The North Iowa Bulls congratulate Dylan Gajewski on his commitment to Adrian College, and wish him further success as he takes the next step in his academic and athletic career.
