NLL Playoffs Update

Four teams remain in the contention for the 2005 Champion's Cup. The Champion's Cup Playoffs continue this weekend as the two divisional winner host the semifinals. The winners of this weekend's games advance to the Champion's Cup Final.

The Semifinals begins on Friday as Toronto Rock hosts Rochester Knighthawks at 7:30pm Eastern. Rochester advanced to the semifinal round by defeating the Buffalo Bandits 19-14 in Buffalo on Saturday. The Toronto Rock earned a first-round bye as East Division champions. The winner of this game advances to the Champion's Cup Final.

The second Semifinal game takes place on Saturday, as the Calgary Roughnecks host the Arizona Sting at 10pm Eastern/8pm Mountain. Arizona advanced to the semifinal round by defeating the Colorado Mammoth 16-13 at home on Friday. This season marks the first appearance in the Champion's Cup Playoffs for the Sting. The Calgary Roughnecks earned a first-round bye as West Division champions.

Both games will air live in Canada on The Score, with US television to be determined. The winners of the semifinal games advance to the Champion's Cup Final, which takes place on Saturday, May 14th at 3:30pm Eastern. The Final will be televised live on NBC and The Score.

The Champion's Cup Final will be hosted by the team with the higher overall seed of the two that advance to the Final. The overall seeding of the playoff teams is as follows:

Toronto (12-4)*

Calgary (10-6)**

Buffalo (11-5) (eliminated from playoffs)

Rochester (10-6)

Arizona (9-7)

Colorado (8-8) (eliminated from playoffs)

Toronto will host the Final if they defeat Rochester. Calgary will host the Final with a win over Arizona and a Toronto loss to Rochester. Rochester will host the Final with a win over Toronto and a Calgary loss to Arizona. Arizona has the lowest seed of the four remaining teams and would be the visiting team if they advance to the Final.
