
NLL Average Attendance Climbs Over 10,000 Mark

The National Lacrosse League season concludes the 2003-04 season with a final average attendance of 10,088. The average consists of all regular season games, All-Star Game and the Champion's Cup Playoffs. A total of 867,626 fans attended NLL games this season. The season consisted of eighty regular season games, the All-Star Game and the Champion's Cup Playoffs, which consisted of five games. The average represents an increase of 14% over last season's average of 8,835 for the 2002-03 regular season and playoffs combined.
"On behalf of our Board of Governors and all of our teams, I'd like to thank our fans for joining us in reaching this attendance milestone together," said Commissioner Jim Jennings. "The popularity of the NLL and professional indoor lacrosse is clearly on the rise."

The season also included several standout individual game crowds that found a place in the league record book. The Champion's Cup Final on May 7th at Calgary hosted the second-largest crowd in league history with an attendance of 19,289 at the Pengrowth Saddledome. The Toronto Rock hosted crowds of 18,809 and 18,821 at the Air Canada Centre on March 26th and April 9th respectively, and the Colorado Mammoth hosted sellout crowds throughout the season, including a standing room only crowd that reached 18,305 on January 30th at Pepsi Center.
