
Nighthawks Sign Former NBA Draft Pick Justin Jackson

GUELPH, ON - Justin Jackson joins the Guelph Nighthawks after three seasons of play in the NBA's G League. A former NBA draft pick, Jackson will provide the Nighthawks with length, and will compliment the new additions made to the Nighthawks this offseason due to his defensive prowess.
Jackson attended Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nevada. In 2015, he played in the 2015 Dick's Sporting Goods High School National with New York Knicks Guard Allonzo Trier. In the spring and summer of 2015, Jackson competed in the Under Armour Association Circuit for the Canadian Elite. Jackson and NBA player Thon Maker helped lead the Canadian Elite to the finals. After his junior season finished, Jackson Transferred to Hill Academy in Vaughan, and he was named First Team all-star in the Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association in 2016.
In 2018, Jackson entered the NBA draft and was drafted with the 43rd pick by the Denver Nuggets. He was then traded to the Orlando Magic. Justin was then allocated to the Lakeland Magic of the NBA G-League, where he most recently won the 2021 G-League Championship in his second season with the team.

The Nighthawks start their CEBL 2021 season on June 8. All games are available on CBCSports.ca and the CBC Gem App via Android or iOS devices.
The CEBL led the NHL, NBA and later the CPL in returning to play in Canada after the coronavirus shut down the sports world in March of 2020. The CEBL Summer Series put professional basketball on the television and digital screens of millions of viewers across Canada and around the world, establishing the league as the top Canadian-based global team sports brand. The 2021 season set to start on June 5, will build on that momentum with an expanded viewing audience around the world, and locally through an innovative approach to addressing the uncertainties due to the pandemic around having fans in arenas across the league.
