New Radio Home News Talk 1380 And CSN@JetHawks.Com To Broadcast All JetHawks Games In 2010

(LANCASTER, CA) - The Lancaster JetHawks, Class A Affiliate of the Houston Astros, will have a new radio station and a new web home in 2010 to broadcast every exciting inning of JetHawks baseball. The team has partnered with News Talk 1380, a High Desert Broadcasting station, which will carry every JetHawks game, including the regular season, playoffs, and the exhibition game on radio. Launched in September of 2009, CSN@JetHawks.com will stream all broadcasts live, as well as offering special replays of events. Jeff Lasky will once again be calling the action, joined by newcomer Scott Blusiewicz.

No stranger to the radio business after decades as a radio industry executive, JetHawks General Manager Larry Thornhill is excited to have the team broadcast its games on News Talk 1380. "News Talk 1380 is the perfect home for the JetHawks and High Desert Broadcasting has already been a fantastic corporate partner. Their truly local presence in the Antelope Valley will allow us to do many exciting things along with bringing JetHawks baseball to a wider area. Combined with the growth of CSN@JetHawks.com as the home of local sports on the web, this will be an exciting year for our broadcasts."

All 140 games, plus exhibition and playoff games, will be broadcast live on News talk 1380 and online at CSN@JetHawks.com beginning with the "JetHawks Pre-Game Show" 15 minutes before the first pitch. "The JetHawks Pre-Game Show" prepares fans for the day's game with information, lineups, and scores, as well as an interview with a JetHawks player or coach. Each broadcast will conclude with the "JetHawks Post-Game Show", presented by the Pit Stop. "The JetHawks Post-Game Show" will have stats and highlights from the concluded contest and an interview with the star of the game.

Besides the live broadcasts, CSN@JetHawks.com will also be the home of multimedia home of the JetHawks, including "The JetHawks Clubhouse Show", full replays of recent games, podcasts with extra interviews, and JetHawks On Demand Video including highlights and full shows such as "This Week in JetHawks Baseball".

Since it's inception in September, CSN@JetHawks.com has brought dozens of local sports broadcasts to thousands of Antelope Valley sports fans. Besides JetHawks baseball, CSN@JetHawks.com broadcasts Antelope Valley College football, basketball, and baseball, as well as high school events across the area.

Having joined the team for the 2006 season, Jeff Lasky will be in his fifth year behind the microphone of JetHawks games. Honored each of the last two years by the Daily News as one of the top broadcasters in Southern California, Lasky calls the play-by-play, hosts the "JetHawks Pre-Game Show", "JetHawks Post-Game Show", and the "JetHawks Clubhouse Show". Instrumental in creating CSN@JetHawks.com, he serves as the team's Director of Broadcasting and Media Relations. Lasky also recently completed his third season as the voice of Montana State University football and basketball, a Division I program that competes against some of the top athletic programs in the country. He served as the voice of Antelope Valley College football and basketball in the 2006-2007 athletics season and first came to the California League in 2005 as the secondary broadcaster for the Inland Empire 66ers. A native of Northridge, Lasky divides his time between Lancaster and Bozeman, Montana, where he began his career as the Sports Director/Anchor for the local NBC affiliate.

Scott Blusiewicz joins the JetHawks for his first season with the team and second in minor league baseball. He spent the 2008 campaign as the Assistant Director of Broadcasting for the Lynchburg Hillcats of the Carolina League. Originally from Georgia, Blusiewicz will call the middle innings of JetHawks home games and take part in the "JetHawks Pre-Game Show", "JetHawks Post-Game Show", and "JetHawks Clubhouse Show". Since coming to Lancaster in March, he has served as the broadcaster for Antelope Valley College baseball and called several high school baseball games on CSN@JetHawks.com

"With the huge strides and growth we've made in our broadcasting and multimedia efforts, it was important to me to have a great crew to carry us into this new era," explains Thornhill. "Jeff Lasky has been a fixture in the broadcast booth for JetHawks games and under his leadership, we've become one of the most active and creative minor league franchises in the country when it comes down to our broadcasts, videos, and our website. With Will Thornhill having overseen the successful launch of CSN@JetHawks.com, Scott Blusiewicz joining our on-air crew, and Daniel Putrino (Media Marketing and Public Relations Intern) revamping our improved social media outreach, we will have several new ways of informing and entertaining our fans in 2010."

The JetHawks open the season Thursday, April 8 with a road series at Bakersfield. The home opener at Clear Channel Stadium will take place Monday, April 12 against the Lake Elsinore Storm.
