(Hamilton, March 6)... Major League Lacrosse (MLL) announced the signing of Hamilton Nationals faceoff specialist Geoff Snider for the 2012 season.

Snider enters his fourth season with the Nationals, his seventh season with the league. Snider is a two-time MLL All-Star. Last season, he played in eight games for the Nationals and won 107-196 face-offs. He also registered seven points with five goals and two assists. Snider has played in 55 career games and has won 807-1584 faceoffs. Snider has also registered 62 points (39 goals, 1 two-point goal, 22 assists). He has seen the playoffs five times and helped lead the Nationals to the MLL Championship in 2009.

Snider played his college lacrosse at the University of Denver. In 2006, he was named a Third Team All-American. His 194 ground balls as a senior stands as the NCAA single-season record. In addition, he holds the standard for highest average ground balls per game in a season with 11.41. Snider was a second-round selection (17th overall) by the Denver Outlaws in the 2006 MLL Collegiate Draft.

In international competition, Snider won the Tournament MVP honors at the 2006 FIL World Lacrosse Championships, where he dominated faceoffs helping Team Canada win its first World Championship win since 1978.

The Nationals will open the 2012 season against the Denver Outlaws, on Saturday, May 5th at 9:00 p.m. at INVESCO Field at Mile High. Hamilton makes its home debut on Friday, May 18th with an 11:00 a.m. contest against the Chesapeake Bayhawks at Ron Joyce Stadium at McMaster University.
