Nationals Activate Penn Yan

The Hamilton Nationals activated defenseman Dana Wilber from the Practice Squad and added defenseman M.J. Kiekebelt to the Practice Squad. Both players have local ties with Wilber growing up in Penn Yan, NY and Kiekebelt playing his college lacrosse at RIT.

Wilber was a two-time team captain at Drexel University. This season, he earned the Colonial Athletic Association's Defensive Player of the Year and First Team All-CAA honors. The defenseman finished with 18 caused turnovers and 31 ground balls, both second on the team. He ended his career by playing in the North-South All-Star Game. In high school, he played for Nationals' Assistant Coach Brian Hobart at Penn Yan Academy.

Kiekabelt, who was selected in the eighth round (63rd overall) of the 2012 MLL Supplemental Draft, rejoins the Nationals where he played one game this season. The Caledon, Ontario native spent his four-year college career at RIT (2008-11) and collected 338 ground balls, sixth most all-time at the university. He was a two-time All-American and a three-time All-Empire selection. In 2011, he was a First Team USILA All-American and the Empire 8 Player of the Year. He was also an ECAC Upstate Defensive Player of the Year and an ECAC Upstate All-Star.

The Nationals travel to Rochester, NY to battle the Rattlers at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 23rd. The game will be televised live on the CBS Sports Network.
