NASL Postseason Matchups Set in Stone as Fall Season Concludes
October 30, 2017 - North American Soccer League (NASL) News Release
NEW YORK - It took until the final day of the North American Soccer League (NASL) Fall Season, but the field for The Championship, the league's four-team postseason tournament, is set in stone.
North Carolina FC grinded out a 2-2 draw in Indianapolis on Sunday, solidifying its place as the No. 3 seed in The Championship. Had North Carolina slipped up, the New York Cosmos were in position to take hold of the No. 3 seed, but instead the defending champions had to settle for the No. 4 spot. The Cosmos clinched their postseason spot on Saturday night with a 5-2 victory over Puerto Rico FC.
Miami FC, which added the Fall Season title to its impressive 2017 resume on Saturday night, locked up the No. 1 seed a few weeks ago, while the San Francisco Deltas grabbed the No. 2 seed by virtue of finishing second in the Combined Standings.
With the Fall Season in the books, the field for The Championship has been finalized. Below are the details for each semifinal matchup:
