Nashville's Youth Encouragement Services receives ABA balls

Published on February 14, 2005 under American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release

Indianapolis, IN. Youth Encouragement Services of Nashville, Tennessee is the first recipient of ABA red, white and blue basketballs as part of the league's program to provide the nation's youth leagues with basketballs.

The Youth Encouragement Services (Y.E.S.) has been working with inner-city children for forty nine years. Every day after school, and all day long during the summer months, Y.E.S. provides programming under the leadership of Executive Director Chris Barnhill to hundreds of at-risk inner city children (6-11) at two community centers. Their basketball program serves over 300 children. The ABA and Nashville Rhythm are pleased to be able to help.

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
