Nashville Broncos Head Coach Named

March 24, 2008 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release


Nashville, TN. Oliver Lee, who has proven his ability both on and off the court, has been named head coach for the expansion ABA Nashville Broncs. Owner Scott Lumley stated, "After an extensive and thorough search in which we interviewed several highly qualified candidates, we are pleased to welcome Coach Lee to our family. We are confident in his leadership and coaching abilities. His winning attitude gives us a glimpse into our future and what our upcoming season will bring not only to Nashville and the ABA, but to the fans."

With over 10 years of experience, he brings to the floor an array of honors. Oliver is married with three kids and six grand-kids. He is a native of Deland, FL where he attended Deland High School from 1974-77. He then continued his education at Marquette University majoring in speech communication. His accomplishments include but are not limited to All American 80 & 81, MVP Marquette University 81, Springfield Basketball Hall of Fame/First Championship ever won, drafted by the Chicago Bulls 81 and played extensively in Europe.

Oliver Lee's reputation speaks basketball from goal to goal. Lee added, "I am thankful to Mr. Lumley and the ABA for the opportunity to take the court once again. Basketball is my life passion and this is an excellent opportunity for both me and the players. The city of Nashville will be proud of what we bring to the floor. We looked forward to the season and as always, winning is the name of the game. Lumley said, "With a competitive attitude such as this, we are sure Oliver is a winning score for our organization and our team."

Oliver was officially introduced in a press conference in Nashville on March 14th and is ready to evaluate the prospective players at the Broncs first tryouts on April 15th at Fisk University.
