NAPA Auto Parts Named Presenting Sponsor of Guatemala vs. Guyana Match

KENNESAW, GA (November 4, 2010) - Atlanta Beat General Manager Shawn McGee announced NAPA AUTO PARTS as presenting sponsor of the upcoming international exhibition match between national soccer teams from Guatemala and Guyana. The match takes place at the brand-new Kennesaw State University Soccer Stadium on Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 7:30PM. Tickets are on sale now through the Atlanta Beat's website (www.theatlantabeat.com) and main crowd building line (678-298-4780). "It's exciting to build partnerships with signature companies such as NAPA AUTO PARTS," said Scott Spencer, Atlanta Beat Director of Special Events. "Not only is this sponsorship vital to the success of the match, but NAPA AUTO PARTS will also be a major component in the marketing and outreach to the community."

As teams prepare for the trip to Atlanta, Guatemala has announced an initial roster that includes star player Guillermo Ramirez, the country's most experienced national team player. Ramirez is a 2005 MLS Champion with the Los Angeles Galaxy and will be a player of interest leading the charge against Caribbean rivals from Guyana.

Guatemala Player Profiles:

Guillermo Ramirez: 97 Appearances for National Team

Having been a part of Municipal since 1995, Ramírez also has played internationally with PAS Giannina in Greece, Jaguares in the Mexican First Division, CM Marathon in Honduras, and MLS Los Angeles Galaxy.

He played the 2005 season for the Los Angeles Galaxy of Major League Soccer. In the MLS Cup Final, he scored the game-winner in extra time to give Galaxy its second MLS title. After the 2005 MLS season, Ramírez went back to Municipal and has since helped the team win three league tournaments.

Ramírez made his debut for Guatemala in an April 1997 UNCAF Cup match against Costa Rica and has earned over 90 caps since. He has been part of the qualification processes for the World Cups of 2002, 2006, and 2010. He captained the squad that reached the final stage of the 2006 World Cup qualification.

On August 6, 2008, Ramirez wore the captain's armband and scored Guatemala's second goal of a 3-0 victory over Bolivia, also becoming the most capped player in the history of the Guatemalan team - now with 97 international appearances.
