NORTH NAHL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jason Blain, a 5-11, 195-lb right shot forward for the Soo Kewadin Casino Indians, has earned NAHL North Offensive Player of the Week honors for the week ending September 21, 2003. Blain, a Sault Ste. Marie, MI native, registered a goal and three assists, in a win and loss against the Cleveland Barons. Two of his assists came on the power play.
NORTH NAHL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sean Caruso of the Dayton Gems has been named NAHL North Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending September 21, 2003. Caruso, 6-0, 187-lb netminder made 26 stops plus four saves in a shoot out, on the road in Ann Arbor, MI, as he earned the Gems their franchise first NAHL win over the US National Team. The previous day he had 41 saves in a road loss to US squad. In two previous seasons in the NAHL he has recorded 17 wins with 1,429 saves and 2 shutouts.
