Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks News Release
The NAHL Danbury Hat Tricks earned three points on a road trip in Odenton, Maryland, against the East Division-leading Maryland Black Bears, matching the point total of the home side for the weekend.
On Friday, Alexios Georgaklis opened the scoring for the Hat Tricks a little less than halfway through the first period. Jesse Horacek tied the game late in the second period. The game eventually went to overtime, where an unassisted breakaway goal by Emerson Molas gave Danbury their first win over Maryland in five tries this season. Miles Roberts made 42 saves for his fifth victory of the year.
Saturday unfolded almost the same way. Jacob Roberson opened the scoring in the first period for Danbury before an extra-attacker goal by Maryland's Adam Schankula sent the game to overtime. The extra session passed without a goal, and Horacek and Josh Erickson exchanged goals in the shootout before Riley Ruh's goal in round 5 won the game for Maryland. Roberts made 50 saves in the loss.
The Hat Tricks take on the Northeast Generals at home this weekend for a two-game set.
