Muskegon's Bouchard Ties Professional Hockey Record

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO--- The United Hockey League (UHL) announced Tuesday that director of hockey operations Brad Jones has ruled that the first goal of the game in UHL Game #509 (Muskegon @ Fort Wayne) was scored by Muskegon Fury right wing Robin Bouchard.

After reviewing video of the game, Jones determined the puck was deflected into the net by Bouchard.

Prior to Friday's game, Bouchard was riding a league-record 14-game goal-scoring streak. The 30-year-old Jonquiere, Quebec native registered a goal the following evening to extend his goal-scoring streak to 16-games, tying the professional hockey record for longest consecutive goal-scoring streak.

The current record is shared by retired National Hockey League (NHL) forward Punch Broadbent (Ottawa, 1921-22) and the ECHL's Darren Schwartz (Wheeling, 1992-93).

Bouchard will attempt to set a new record for longest consecutive goal-scoring streak this evening in Glens Falls. Muskegon plays the Adirondack IceHawks at 7:05 PM at the Glens Falls Civic Center.
