
Mudcats Signal Caller Shows Team Spirit

Tommy Jones, the star quarterback for the Mississippi Mudcats, showed something not usually found in men in his position. He decided to step down as a starter for the upcoming Erie game to allow Bart Gloyd to have his first start of the season.
"Bart is a vital part of the team and has worked hard this year" Jones said, "I am going to back him up for a change and help him as he has helped me this year".
Jones, who leads the AIFA in touchdown throws want to move up in the football ranks to the NFL or AFL soon.
Tim Millis, Executive Director of the NFL Referees Association, said that, "Tommy Jones is one of three players on the Mudcats team with immediate NFL potential".
Owner of the Mississippi Mudcats Todd Ellis, said, "a unselfish player like Tommy Jones does not come around often", "Tommy has immediate career opportunities to move up to other teams but his loyalty to this team is fantastic, I am proud of him and the outstand character traits he possesses, Tommy will be a great quarterback at the next level".
The Mudcats travel to Erie, PA to take on the Freeze Saturday night.
