Mississippi Mudcats News Release

The Mississippi Mudcats announce today the signing of standout

IFL All Star wide receiver Joel Babb 6"1- 195 lbs from the University of Alabama.

Babb recently attended training camp with AFL Kansas City Brigade. During the 2006 IFL season Babb lead the Odessa Roughnecks to a 14-2 mark and the IFL Championship. Babb is an exciting receiver who will become another weapon in head coach Brian Brents potent air attack that leads the league averaging over 60 points per game.

Mudcats Advance Player to AFL

The Arena Football League are defiantly taking notice to the Mississippi Mudcats 5-0 start as we are proud to announce that Gary Jenkins 6"4 320lbs Offensive Lineman has advanced to a higher level of pro football by signing to play in the AFL with the New Orleans Voodoo. Jenkins is the first player in the Mudcats franchise short but fast growing history to advance to the AFL. Gary is a native of New Orleans, LA as he comes home. Jenkins is a former 1st team D IAA All American selection at Southern University. We will miss Gary but are glad to send him home so he can help rebuild the Big Easy and continue on the Mudcats motto of giving back to the community.
