BELLINGHAM, Wash. - The Bellingham Slam received a combined 52 points from forward Nick Moore and center Blake Poole as they routed the Olympia Reign, 139-106, in International Basketball League play at Whatcom Pavilion on Friday.

The Slam broke open a close first quarter with a 13-2 run to lead 35-23, before Olympia was able to reel in the deficit somewhat with a 9-2 burst early in the second to make the score 42-35.

But the Slam, playing with renewed energy following a home loss to Portland last weekend, responded to pull away again and lead 66-49 at halftime.

A 14-4 run by Bellingham early in the second half extended the lead to 82-57 and the Slam didn't look back after that. With the Slam bench cleared and Olympia offering little resistance, Bellingham posted 45 points in the fourth quarter.

Moore, playing against his former team for the first time, had a game-high 31 points to lead Bellingham, which evened its record at 2-2. Poole finished with a monster double-double of 21 points and 18 rebounds to highlight a game in which every Slam player scored.

Guard Kyle Calhoun led five Olympia players in double figures with 29 points.

The Slam next host the Salem Sabres in their first of three "barnstorming" games this season on Friday, May 16 at Lynden High School. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
