Montréal Alliance Signs Ahmed Hill for 2023 Season

Montréal, QC - The Montréal Alliance announced Thursday that it has signed American shooting guard Ahmed Hill for the 2023 season of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). The six-foot-five player played the previous two CEBL seasons with the Guelph Nighthawks and finished the 2022 season averaging 17.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists in 30.1 minutes per game and three points behind the league leader in points per game. During the 2022 season, Hill scored 25 or more points on seven occasions, including a career high 28-point game against the Montréal Alliance (June 11, 2022). Hill was named to the All-CEBL Second Team following the 2021 season.

The Fort Valley, Georgia native played 14 regular season games with Guelph in 2021, averaging 16.8 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists. Hill scored 10 or more points in 12 of 14 games and 20 or more points on six occasions.

Hill is currently completing the 2022-23 season with Medi Bayreuth in Germany's Bundesliga where he is averaging 12.1 points and 3.4 rebounds in 15 games. The American is also shooting 43.4 percent from the field and 39.1 percent from the three-point line. Hill also played in Poland's top division during the 2021-22 season with HydroTruck Radom.

The shooting guard played the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons in the NBA G League with the Northern Arizona Suns and the Greensboro Swarm. Hill signed a two-way contract with the NBA's Charlotte Hornets on September 5, 2019, and played six games with the Brooklyn Nets in the 2019 NBA Summer League.

Hill played four collegiate seasons with the Virginia Tech Hokies between 2014-2019, reaching the prestigious March Madness tournament three times in 2017, 2018 and 2019. The shooting guard was named to the 2K Sports Classic All-Tournament team in 2018 alongside the NBA's Minnesota Timberwolves Jaylen Nowell.

Hill joins Mamadou Gueye, Alain Louis and Nathan Cayo as the fourth member of the team for the 2023 season. The Alliance plays its first of 10 home games at the Verdun Auditorium on May 26 against the Niagara River Lions.
