"After so many years playing basketball professionally outside of the country, it is with great pride and joy that I am coming back home to join the Alliance," said Laroche. "I intend to give back to the city that has given me so much. This is a unique opportunity to showcase Montréal's colours across the country and even internationally. I am so proud to represent my hometown! It is such an honour to wear the blue, white and red colours of this new franchise!"

Following his collegiate stint with New Mexico State University, Laroche signed his first professional contract in 2012 with BC Odessa in the Ukrainian Basketball SuperLeague, before finishing the season in Switzerland with BBC Monthley.

Laroche played the next two seasons in the Czech Republic's National Basketball League with Jindrichuv Hradec (2012-2013) and Usti Nad Labem (2014-2015). The point guard also played with the Haitian National Team, including a stint under Matt Brase during the FIBA Caribbean Cup.

Prior to making the jump to the NCAA's Division I, Laroche played at Vanier College, where he was named the 2006-2007 Rookie of the Year. Laroche was also named to the league's all-star team in 2007-2008, in addition to leading the league in assists and steals.
