Fresno, Calif. - MONSTERS WEEKLY is a weekly review of everything Monsters Hockey: weekend game recap, player and goalie stats, player spotlight, and upcoming events.
The NAHL Monsters head to Palmer, Alaska this weekend to take on the Alaska Avalanche on Friday and Saturday.
This weekend the WSHL Monsters begin round one of the 2012 WSHL Thorne Cup Playoffs at Gateway Ice Center. It is a best-of-three series against the Arizona Redhawks on Friday and Saturday, March 9 and 10 at 5:00pm, and Sunday, March 11 at 10:15am if necessary. Admission is $7 per person, and seating is first-come, first-serve. Friday and Saturday, the playoff games will include tailgate parties before and after the games, chuck-a-puck contests, food and merchandise booths, and a live performance on Saturday by local rock band Stone River.

NAHL Fresno Monsters vs. Wenatchee Wild

Sat., 3/3/12 - Monsters 1, Wild 4:
The Fresno Monsters couldn't seem to stay out of the penalty box after racking up 7 minor penalties, 14 minutes total. Ryan Doner, who scored the only teams goal, avoided the shutout late in the 3rd period.
Sun., 3/4/12 - Monsters 3, Wild 2 (SO):
The Fresno Monsters came back from a two-goal deficit to avoid the sweep in Wenatchee. Kyle Sucher scored the shootout goal to snag the victory.
NAHL PLAYER SPOTLIGHT
JEFFREY PAULUK: Pauluk tied up Sunday's game with a shocking 180-foot shorthanded, unassisted goal.
TOMAS SHOLL: Sholl did not allow any shootout goals during Sunday night's game and improved to 15 wins during the regular season. Sholl is still currently ranked 8th among the top goalies in the NAHL.
RYAN DONER: Doner went ahead to score the only goal for the Monsters in Saturday night's game against the Wild.
