Fresno Monsters News Release
Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Monsters are seeking families in the Fresno/Clovis area to open their homes to a player, or players, for the upcoming 2012-2013 season. Roughly 50 young men between the ages of 15-20 will be coming into Fresno to play for the Fresno Monsters' North American Hockey League team or the Western States Hockey League team. The players are recruited from all over the world and will relocate to Fresno to live with a local family from the end of August through the end of the season in April or May 2013.
Families who open their homes to a Fresno Monsters' player or players will receive a $300 per month stipend and two season tickets for the Fresno Monsters 2012-2013 season per player housed.
The Fresno Monsters' Academic Advisor and Housing Coordinator, Debbie Welcker, will be housing Fresno Monsters' players for the third-straight season. "Taking these young men into your home and making them a part of your family is a big job," she explains. "However, the rewards that you receive from the lifelong friendships you make and the satisfaction of knowing you played a huge part in helping them further their hockey dreams far outweighs the work involved."
