Fresno Monsters News Release

Fresno, Calif. - Fresno Monsters' captain Jeffrey Pauluk will begin his college career at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire for the 2012-2013 season. Pauluk has spent the last two full seasons with the Monsters in the North American Hockey League and has decided to forego his final year of juniors to begin attending college.

"Jeff is an exceptional player that will be missed for sure," explained GM/NAHL Head Coach Eric Ballard. "He was an anchor for our club for two seasons. Even though we are sad to see him go, we know that he has helped the Monsters build a solid foundation for future players." Ballard added, "We wish Jeff nothing but the best at the collegiate level."

Pauluk had played the most games out of any Monster in those two seasons in the North American Hockey League. In 109 games played, he was ranked 8th in the NAHL in top scoring defensemen with 9 goals and 26 assists in the 2011-2012 season. Pauluk also participated in two-consecutive NAHL Top Prospects tournaments to represent the Monsters. He will skate against his former Monsters teammate Riley Borer, a UW-River Falls recruit, on a regular basis in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association.
