MLL Insider Report

Published on July 5, 2013 under Major League Lacrosse (MLL) News Release

We're diving into week ten now and there's still plenty of excitement headed our way with just over one week until the 2013 All-Star Game presented by Moe's Southwest Grill. We kicked off the weekend by celebrating the Fourth of July with the annual Independence Day game in the Mile-High City, as the Denver Outlaws hosted the New York Lizards. In front of more than 31 thousand fans, the most ever to see a professional lacrosse game, Denver became the first team in Major League Lacrosse history to ever start the season 10-0.

The action will pick up again tomorrow with two Saturday night games, including the YouTube game of the week, as the Ohio Machine host the Chesapeake Bayhawks. Make sure to visit MLL's YouTube Channel at 7:30pm ET Saturday night to watch this matchup. Then at 8pm ET tune in to ESPN 2 to see the Boston Cannons take on the Charlotte Hounds. To cap off the weekend, enjoy some Sunday afternoon lacrosse, as the Hamilton Nationals visit the Rochester Rattlers on CBS Sports Network at 3pm ET. Follow and interact with MLL and teams on Twitter and Facebook throughout the weekend to keep up with all the news.

Denver Outlaws Make History

The 31 thousand plus fans in attendance for the annual 4th of July game were in for a treat. There were two sets of fireworks on display at the packed Sports Authority Field at Mile High this Independence Day-the traditional 4th of July fire-crackers and the Denver Outlaws' highlight-reel of an offense, an offense that saw goals from eight different scorers. The Outlaws, who move to a league best 10-0, defeated the visiting 3-7 New York Lizards, by a score of 16-7. Denver's 10-0 start is the best in Major League Lacrosse history. Read More.
