MLL Championship Weekend Coverage on ESPN2 and ESPNEWS

Boston, MA - Major League Lacrosse (MLL) announced nationally broadcast coverage for the MLL season and MLL Championship Weekend on ESPN+, ESPNEWS, and ESPN2 in May 2019. For MLL Championship Weekend, October 4-6, both semifinal games are scheduled to be broadcast on October 4 on ESPNEWS with the MLL Championship to be televised on Sunday, October 6, on ESPN2

Through this partnership, we have been growing the MLL fan base and we look forward to demonstrating the very best of MLL throughout Championship Weekend."

The MLL Championship Game, set to be broadcast on ESPN2, will reach 86 million households, setting the stage for a highly engaged title match between the two winners of the semifinal games. With ESPNEWS national reach at 62.4 million households, the semifinal matchups are also projected to be a highly engaged affair. ESPN has televised MLL throughout the 2019 season with 15 televised games appearing on ESPN+. The 2019 MLL All Star Game and 2018 MLL Championship Game were both broadcasted live on ESPN2.

Mark Dixon and Don Zimmerman are set to broadcast both of the MLL semifinal matchups starting with game one between the Chesapeake Bayhawks and Atlanta Blaze starting at 7:00 P.M. EDT/ 5:00 P.M. MDT and game two between the Denver Outlaws and Boston Cannons set for 10:00 P.M. EDT/ 8:00 P.M. MDT. Both  semifinal games will be played at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium on the campus of the University of Denver. Dixon joined ESPN as a lacrosse analyst in 2006 and has served as an analyst, sideline reporter and play-by-play announcer during his time at the company. Zimmerman is a former college lacrosse coach at UMBC and John Hopkins University and joined ESPN in 2016 as a color analyst for both college and high school lacrosse.

Dixon and Zimmerman will be joined by Joe Beninati and Quint Kessenich for the MLL Championship Game with faceoff for that matchup set for 1:00 P.M. EDT/ 11:00 MDT at Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, CO. Beninati has held the position of play-by-play announcer for the Washington Capitals since 1994 and also regularly provides play-by-play for college football and basketball games. Kessenich has been covering men's lacrosse at ESPN since 1993 and has covered the NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship since 1995.
